Nine Audi vehicles have earned top honors for delivering innovative design, hi-tech interiors and top-tier safety measures at the MotorTrend's Ultimate Car Rankings.
"We recognize the most well-rounded vehicles available today, ones that are fun to drive, offer impressive tech and have great long-term value ratings because buyers have high standards," said Zach Gale, director at MotorTrend Buyer's Guide.
Audi’s line up of the 2023 Audi A5 Sportback, A6 Sedan, A6 Allroad, A7 and Audi Q8 earned first-place finishes in their respective categories.
"Achieving excellence in MotorTrend's Ultimate Car Rankings system is difficult, but first-place and top-ranked award winners are the best vehicles around."
Audi A5 Sportback
The Sportback took top honors in the compact luxury fastback category, earning plaudits for its outstanding design, fuel economy and user-friendly cargo space.
Audi A6 sedan
This five-seater vehicle claimed top spot in the midsize luxury sedan rating. The A6 sedan 45 comes with a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that generates 261 hp and 273 Ib-ft of torque, while A6 sedan 55, powered by a 6-cylinder engine generates 355 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque.
"All-around solid performance has kept the Audi A6 at the top of a competitive segment,” Gale said. “It earned a first-place ranking—a real accomplishment in a class full of choices."
Audi A6 Allroad
Allroad’s lineup earned the leading prize in the midsize luxury wagon category for its premium finishing and ultra-quiet cabin. The standard model is outfitted with a turbocharged V-6 engine generating 335 hp and 369 Ib-ft of torque.
Audi A7
The A7 lineup offers three trims and clinched pole position in the midsize luxury fastback category. Its front end is adapted to a wide grille with geometric LED headlights on both sides. The V-6 turbocharged engine also produces 355 hp and 369 Ib-ft of torque.
Audi Q8
Audi Q8 was the best pick in the midsize luxury fastback SUV class. Base features for the 2023 model year include HD Matrix-design LED headlights and coming/leaving animation functions.
MotorTrend Ultimate Car Rankings considers car performance, fuel economy, driving range, technology and design innovation, resale value and safety. An excellent rating is given to vehicles that score at least eight on a 10-point scale.
