Audi’s 2022 Q4 e-tron® and 2023 Q4 Sportback e-tron® have received Top Safety Pick+ honors from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
These vehicles were recognized in the electric midsize luxury SUV category and joined two other models that have achieved the agency’s highest possible rating. Audi now has a total of 14 vehicles with TSP+ awards in 2022.
Both fully electric Q4 vehicles scored top marks in IIHS’s driver, passenger, roof strength, head restraints, frontal collisions and side-impact, crash-compliant tests.
Audi’s front crash system in both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian evaluations also garnered a top rating.
The Collision Avoidance Assist system uses data from two radar sensors and a front camera to calculate space to perform a collision avoidance maneuver in the event of an accident with a front vehicle.
A generated jolt warns the driver of the impending hazard and the assistant system applies a slight steering torque to help make a lane change.
