Under the Hood
Available is a turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic that produces 401 hp and 369 Ib-ft of torque.
The RS 3 revs up to 60 mph in less than 3.8 seconds and achieves a standard speed of 155 mph. Two optional upgrades of 174 mph and 180 mph are available for race car enthusiasts who want more speed.
Audi Drive Select system features drive modes that adapt the mechanical components of this sporty sedan with personalized behavior at the touch of a button.
Looking for a relaxing weekend cruise? Audi’s Comfort mode reduces steering effort and softens suspension for a smoother and enjoyable drive.
Want a bit more excitement: Dynamic mode is suited for mazy roads and uphill driving. It delivers increased lateral acceleration and quicker engine response.
Allroad and Offroad options adjust the height of the suspension for better-off road capability. Air suspension improves ride height with information on the vehicle’s incline and steering angles shown on the dashboard-mounted display screen.
Comfort and Convenience
RS Sport offers a multifunction leather steering wheel, die-cast high quality zinc paddle shifters and ventilated sport seats with contrasting honeycomb stitching.
The 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen in the center stack provides a vehicle status report of tire pressures as well as coolant, engine and transmission temperatures of the Audi RS3 in real-time.
The high-resolution screen lights up behind the steering wheel and is directly in the driver’s line of sight. It can be programmed to display a slew of other functions including: navigation, cellphone, radio, media and traffic data.
An optional Virtual Cockpit controlled by voice prompts or steering-wheel buttons reveal lap times and acceleration runs of 0-60 mph.
Safety
Audi Pre Sense safety technology works in this luxury sedan via cameras and radar sensors that keep track of dangers around the vehicle.
If a collision is imminent the safety and driver-assist system takes the following steps.
- Front seat belts automatically tension to help reduce the chance of injury.
- Sunroof and windows automatically close to reduce the chance of debris entering the vehicle.
- Warning lights activate and alert other drivers about the dangerous situation ahead.
Additional systems include Pre Sense City and Pre Sense Rear, both increase the monitoring capacity of the RS 3 and provide additional warning.
