Under the Hood
The 2022 Q5 us available in traditional gas powerplant and plug-in hybrid. The 2-liter gas engine that generates 261 hp and 273 Ib-ft of torque.
Power is supplied to all four wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. It delivers an EPA-estimated 23 miles per gallon in the city and 28 miles per gallon on the highway.
The plug-in hybrid unites the gasoline engine with an electric motor and a newly upgraded 17.9 kWh battery. The hybrid powertrain generates 362 hp and 369 Ib-ft of torque. Its electric-only range is 23 miles, complimenting the gas powerplant for city driving and delivering with a combined fuel economy of 61 miles per gallon gasoline equivalent.
Audi SQ5 model comes with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. It generates an estimated 349 hp.
Comfort and Convenience
Cargo capacity for the 5-seater Q5 stands at 25.8 cubic feet and 54 cubic feet when the back seats are folded.
Audi’s MMI infotainment system offers a cross section of button controls and crisp visuals. It also includes haptic feedback--a vibration to let a driver know the system has received a touch command.
Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless device charging, two USB ports, HD radio and a 10-speaker stereo are standard on the 2022 Q5.
Optional upgrades include a navigation system, satellite radio, a 19-speaker stereo and Audi’s 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit digital driver display.
Safety
The 2022 Q5 comes standard with Audi Pre Sense. It helps detect stationary vehicles and pedestrians at speeds of up to 52 mph.
Rear Cross Traffic Assist uses radar sensors and optical warnings to warn of approaching vehicles.
Insurance Institute for Highway Safety recognized the 2022 Audi Q5 as a “Top Safety Pick +”-the organization’s highest rating.
The compact SUV passed all six of the IIHS stringent crash tests: driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, original side, roof strength and head restraint appraisals.
