Audi's 2023 A3 delivers a fuel-sipping hybrid powertrain, driver-centric cabin and impressive list of standard safety features.

With a nimble size and four selective transit modes, drivers can customize the A3's driving dynamics for autumn getaways or exploring backcountry roads.

Under the Hood

All A3 luxury sedans have a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine matched to a mild hybrid system. The 48-volt electric motor supplies instant torque and seamless gear transitions for fuel efficiency at low speeds.

The responsive powerplant churns out 201 hp and 221 Ib-ft of torque power transferred to front or all-four wheels via a seven-speed transmission.

All-wheel drive has an EPA rating of 28 mpg for city driving and 36 mpg on the highway. In contrast, front-wheel drive is rated at 29/38 mpg for city/highway with a revving score of 0 to 60 mph in 6.6 seconds.

The electric motor assists with fluid acceleration for satisfactory summer road trips. The result is reduced jerking and jostling, which is especially important when traveling with children or passengers prone to motion sickness.

Comfort and Convenience

The A3’s tech-centric interior includes a standard multi-functional touch response system connected to a digital instrument cluster.

Google Maps and Google Earth availability help summertime sightseers with the shortest routes and estimated travel times to their favorite places.

The Google Maps feature helps drivers quickly locate restaurants, hotels and tourist attractions based on reviews and rating scores. Drivers can download offline Google Maps to help them find their way in areas with poor cell reception.

Three-zone climate control keeps everyone comfortable in humid weather by offering personalized temperatures for passengers. A power panoramic sunroof increases ventilation for occupants on hot summer days as well as impressive views at night or day.

Safety

Audi Pre Sense is standard on all trims and delivers cutting-edge driver assistance in hazardous driving conditions.

The system closes windows and pre-tensions front safety belts in detected emergencies.

Audi Pre Sense Front is also available on base models. It braces the sedan for imminent front-end damage with warnings and applies full braking assist if required.

Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the 2023 A3  a highest rating of "Good" in all six crash test categories and named it Top Safety Pick+.  Headlights earned the highest rating of "Good" grade for excellent visibility on open road and without excessive glare for oncoming drivers.
