Audi received five editor’s pick awards in the annual Car and Driver review of new models.

Audi A5 Sportback, A6, A6 allroad, A7 and A8 made the Editor’s Choice list for 2021 model vehicles. Car and Driver reviewers looked at more than 400 vehicles as part of the annual Car and Driver Buyer’s Guide.

According to Car and Driver. “This is the list that we would recommend to our friends and family; the vehicles we think are reliable, safe, and fun to drive. We’d be happy with any of these in our driveways.”

Vehicles were rated based on value, reliability, technology and overall driving experience. A final group of 96 vehicles were sorted into categories including wagons, hatchbacks, coupes, sedans and convertibles.

The 2021 Audi A5 Sportback was chosen in the Entry-Luxury Car category. According to the editor’s report, it “delivers the best of both worlds by combining the styling of the A5 coupe and the practicality of a four-door hatchback.”

Among the safety features of the 2021 A5 Sportback are an emergency braking system that automatically tightens seatbelts and closes side windows for safety in the event of a potential crash. It also includes lane-keeping assist, heated front seats, triple-zone automatic climate control and wireless Android/ Apple CarPlay Auto compatibility.

For the Luxury Station Wagon category, editors selected the Audi A6 allroad. It was praised as an “SUV-alternative with a similarly adventurous image.” The allroad offers an A6-level fit and finish with premium cabin technology.

In the Mid-Size Luxury Category, the Audi A6 allroad earned praise for its “tasteful, upscale, and spacious luxury sedan with a lot of tech-savvy features.”

Innovative technologies offered by the A6 include an advanced infotainment, standard dual-screen MMI touch response system and the optional Audi virtual cockpit.

Editors selected the Audi A7 in the Mid-Size Luxury Car category. It was commended for all-around refinement, sleek profile, and practicality.

Premium features offered by the Audi A7 include a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium audio system, headlight washers, wireless phone charger, HD-Matrix LED lights, blind-spot monitors, a 360-camera system as well as night-vision assist technology.

Editors called the Audi A8 “quietly luxurious.” The 2021 model was selected in the Full-Size Luxury Car category for its luxurious interior, standard tech features and road versatility.

The 2021 Audi A8 offers a choice of powerplants including V6, V8, high-performance S and a plug-in hybrid variant.
