
Audi Q7
Audi's 2023 Q7 has been endorsed as a leading choice for vehicle safety by the Insurance for Highway Safety.
The luxury SUV received the "Top Safety Pick+" accolade for headlights and safety technology upgrades. It is the sixth Audi model to receive a 2023 TSP+ award. Q7 offers the latest HD-Matrix design LED headlights with laser lighting.
In each headlight, a small laser module amplifies the cone spotlight by several hundred meters. Laser beam pattern is activated at speeds of 40 mph and projects a broader visibility of the road ahead. The new headlights are standard on Prestige and optional on Premium Plus trims.
Front crash prevention system earned a "Superior" rating in daylight vehicle-to-pedestrian evaluations and an "Advanced" ranking during nocturnal tests.
Standard and available driver assistance features:
- Standard Audi Pre Sense Basic: Prepares the vehicle for impact. Closes side windows and sunroof. Pretensions front safety belts.
- Standard Audi Pre Sense Front: Uses a camera to monitor the area in front of vehicle. Provides warnings in hazardous situations.
- Standard Audi Side Assist: Offers blind spot monitoring via LED indicators on exterior mirrors at speeds above 9 mph.
- Standard Lane Departure Warning: Helps drivers maintain lanes through corrective steering and wheel vibration speeds above 40 mph.
- Standard Rear Cross-Traffic Assist: Supports reversing out of L-shaped parking spaces. Indicator arrows inform drivers of approaching vehicles.
- Available Adaptive Cruise Assist: Accelerates brakes and maintains speed and distance. Scans environment with radar, camera and ultrasonic sensors.
- Available Top View Camera: Front, rear and side-view cameras deliver a simulated 360 surround view for car parks and narrow spaces.
Top Safety Pick+ awards are based on "Good" scores in multiple crash assessment tests. An “Acceptable” grade for standard headlights and "Advanced" rating for vehicle-to-pedestrian crash prevention tests also are mandatory.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is an independent agency focused on reducing injuries and property damage from motor vehicle accidents. It began annual evaluations for Top Safety Picks in the 2006 model year and introduced its Top Safety Pick+ honor in 2013.
